Melody Miles 5K is a FUN family-friendly fundraising race that brings together runners, walkers, and music lovers in support of the award-winning Hoover High School Choir Program. With more than 180 students participating across 8 choirs, the program is a vital part of the school’s arts community.

Along the race route, participants will be cheered on with live music from student singers, creating a one-of-a-kind experience. The race begins and ends at Hoover High School, followed by post-race festivities featuring karaoke, awards, and a silent auction. By joining us, you’ll enjoy a fun-filled morning while supporting music education and the arts at Hoover High School!

Registration

​Registration is $35 per participant and includes a Melody Miles 5K cooling performance tee and admission to the after party. We have two options for registration, Runsignup.com and MySchoolFees (no extra fee for eCheck payment!). 📅 Register before Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 11:59 pm to guarantee a shirt for race day.

​Entry fee is non-refundable. This event will occur rain or shine, warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Hoover High School Choir Boosters.

​MySchoolFees Registration Instructions:
Accepts MasterCard, Discover, and eCheck
  1. Go to MySchoolFees (HHS Public Fees).
  2. Select Melody Miles 5K.
  3. Click Add To Cart next to 25-26 Melody Miles Registration Fee (PF).
  4. Fill in participant information and click submit.
  5. Repeat the process for any additional participants and then checkout.
  6. When you checkout, you will be asked to enter who each public fee is for. If you know a choir student, you may enter their name(s). If you don't then enter your own name.

Race Day Schedule
  • 7:00 am – Packet Pickup Opens & Silent Auction Opens
  • 7:30 am – Registration Closes
  • 7:45 am – Packet Pickup Closes
  • 8:00 am – Race Start
  • 9:30 am – Presentation of Awards
  • 9:45 am – Silent Auction Closes
  • 10:00 am – Silent Auction Winners Announced

Aid Stations
Water stop locations will be located at the halfway mark and at the finish line.

Awards
Age-group awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in the divisions listed below.  Each winner will be awarded a Melody Miles 5K medal.

  • 13-18 years old
  • 19-40 years old
  • 41 and older​

Logos and checks must be received by September 30, 2025 to be included on the shirts ($250 level).
